5 Oregon players with most to gain, lose during spring practice 2021

EUGENE Oregon opens spring practice Thursday and several players have a chance to gain or lose a lot over the next month.
Several jobs on the two-deep are open, particularly in the secondary, and new defensive coordinator Tim DeRuyter is installing his scheme.
Some spots will not be determined until the summer and fall camp, but many will be sorted out by the end of the May 1 spring game.
Here are 5 Oregon players with the most to gain or lose during spring practice, with an emphasis on potential to see a dramatic move on the depth chart.

EUGENE Oregon’s secondary was in line for a total overhaul after the 2020 season, a process that began early due to the opt-outs of Jevon Holland, Thomas Graham Jr. and Brady Breeze but will be completed with the departures of Deommodore Lenoir and Nick Pickett.
Much as the field side of the secondary was replaced this fall with Mykael Wright and Jamal Hill taking over starting roles, the boundary side of the defense is resetting this offseason but the heir apparents are already in place with DJ James, Bennett Williams and Jordan Happle.

Oregon, on the other hand, looked to add to their 2-0 Fiesta Bowl record, which consisted of the 2002 victory over Colorado and the 2013 victory over Kansas State.

The No. 25 Oregon Ducks (4-3) lost to the No. 10 Iowa State Cyclones (9-3) 34 to 17 in the Fiesta Bowl to wrap up the 2020 season.
Glendale, Arizona - The Oregon Ducks once again lost the turnover battle this time 4 to 0 and in turn lost their first ever contest between Iowa State. GLENDALE, Ariz. The Oregon football team will look to win consecutive New Year s Six games for the second time in a decade Saturday when the Ducks face No. 10 Iowa State in the Fiesta Bowl.
The Ducks (4-2) captured their second consecutive Pac-12 title by defeating Southern California in the conference championship game. The Cyclones (8-3) lost to Oklahoma in the Big 12 Championship game.
Saturday s game will be televised by ESPN, with Dave Pasch handling play by play, Mike Golic providing analysis and Quint Kessenich contributing reporting from the sidelines.
