All workshops and meetings organised via TFWA’s One2One service will now be held online, while the Tuesday conference will be livestreamed to delegates worldwide.
Arnaud de Volontat will assume the role of TFWA Vice President Conferences and Research.
The Tax Free World Association (TFWA) has elected Altimetre General Manager Arnaud de Volontat to its Board, following a Management Committee meeting vote held on 12 March.
A member of the TFWA Management Committee since October 2019, de Volontat will assume the role of Vice President Conferences and Research.
The move follows the departure of Gemma Bateson, who has stepped down from the TFWA Board and Management Committee after leaving the DF&TR industry to begin a new role within Japan Tobacco International.
Bateson had served on the TFWA Conference & Research sub-committee since 2016 and was elected Vice-President of the same sub-committee in 2020.

Over three decades ago, researchers identified the human immunodeficiency virus (HIV) as the causative agent of a then-mysterious new illness, Acquired Immunodeficiency Syndrome (AIDS). A member of the Lentivirus genus, HIV belongs to the family of retroviruses, which are RNA viruses with the ability to reverse transcribe their single-stranded RNA genome into double-stranded DNA. Following reverse transcription, the viral DNA is incorporated into the host cell genome. An estimated 75 million people have been infected with HIV since 1981, and AIDS has claimed the lives of more than 32 million people. In some countries, AIDS is the leading cause of death. Globally, one million people die from AIDS-related infections per year.
