Riverwood Students Win 2021 Japan Academic Challenge Patch 2 days ago Kathleen Sturgeon © Provided by Riverwood International Charter School Level 2 Japan Academic Challenge winners: Rebecca Mier and Luke Morneweck SANDY SPRINGS, GA Riverwood International Charter School students Luke Morneweck and Rebecca Mier won first place in the Level 2 competition at the 2021 Japan Academic Challenge held virtually on March 20. The Japan-America Society of Georgia hosted numerous high school students from across the southeast for the challenge. Students in the Level 2 competition are enrolled in second year high school-level Japanese language study. The competition included challenges in the Japanese language, business and economics, current events, geography, history, politics, and traditional, modern, and popular culture. To compete, contestants have not lived in Japan for more than three months and come from homes where Japanese is not spoken regularly.

WASHINGTON, DC Students from three Fairfax County high schools will compete in the 2021 National Japan Bowl, the nation s top Japanese language and Japan-related studie competition, on April 8 and 9. Teams from Hayfield Secondary School, Lake Braddock Secondary School and Thomas Jefferson High School for Science and Technology are participating. The 29th National Japan Bowl will be held virtually by the Japan-America Society of Washington DC. The competition includes 200 of the country’s top high school Japanese language students putting their knowledge of Japanese language, culture and history to the test. Students typically prepare throughout the year for the two days of competition. The competition s top winners get to visit Japan

King Kekaulike students awarded Japan trip | News, Sports, Jobs

Apr 3, 2021 Students from King Kekaulike High School were awarded a trip to Japan after competing in the Japan-America Society of Hawaii’s 18th Annual Japan Wizards Statewide Academic Team Competition last month. Sixty students from 14 schools from across the state competed in the annual competition, which was held virtually this year. The three-student team competition is an intense academic test on an extensive range of topics related to Japan, including arts, culture and traditions, food, geography, history, Japan-U.S./Hawaii ties, literature, politics and government, sports and language. The Japan-America Society of Hawaii awards trips to Japan to two top-scoring private schools and two top-scoring public schools.
