Gbajabiamila mourns Tony Momoh, commiserates with Abike-Dabiri over mother s death

By Levinus Nwabughiogu-Abuja Speaker of the House of Representatives, Rep. Femi Gbajabiamila, has described the passing away of a veteran journalist, Tony Momoh, as a sad development. Momoh, a former minister of information under the Ibrahim Babangida era, died on Monday at the age of 81. In a statement by his Special Adviser on Media and Publicity, Lanre Lasisi, the Speaker said: “Momoh would be remembered for his selfless service to his fatherland.” Gbajabiamila added that the late APC chieftain was “one Nigerian who contributed immensely to the development of the party and the country.” The Speaker sent his condolences to Momoh family, the people and Government of Edo State and prayed God to give them the fortitude to bear the irreparable loss, even as he prayed eternal rest for the soul of the deceased.

Gbajabiamila mourns industrialist, Umar Saro

Share The Speaker of the House of Representatives, Hon Femi Gbajabiamila, on Monday, expressed sadness over the passing of a foremost businessman and industrialist, Alhaji Umar Saro. The Speaker said Alhaji Umar Saro was one Nigerian that did not only employ thousands of Nigerians through his chains of businesses but also engaged in philanthropic activities to help the lives of the people. He said Kwara State and indeed Nigeria have lost a patriotic citizen whose major preoccupation was to put smiles on the faces of the people. Hon Gbajabiamila commiserated with the Umar Saro family, the Ilorin Emirate, the governor, the people and Government of Kwara State over the loss.

Esteemed Islamic scholar Ml Fuaad Samai in a message reportedly circulating on social media says he had a very close relationship with Professor Karaan for many years. “I remember when he was doing his Masters degree at Stellenbosch university. He would be writing exams the afternoon in Ramadaan and a few hours later  one and a quarter juz taraweeh every night. He was a brilliant Hafith. He also regularly performed the complete Quran in taraweeh the last three nights of Ramadan. He also established a Hifth school in Strand.”

Former AIG Tambari Yabo dies at 64

Punch Newspapers Sections A retired Assistant Inspector-General of Police, Tambari Yabo, is dead. NAN learnt that Yabo died on Saturday, at the Usman Danfodiyo University Teaching Hospital, Sokoto, at the age of 64, after a brief illness. A family member, Malam Faruku Yabo, confirmed that the deceased, who was survived by two wives, 14 children, and many grandchildren, had been buried in Yabo, his hometown, after a funeral prayer led by the Chief Imam of Yabo, Sheikh Lema Faruk. Amongst the personalities that attended the prayer were, the Minister of Police Affairs, Alhaji Maigari Dingyadi, former Governors of Sokoto state, Sen. Aliyu Wamakko, and Yahaya Abdulkarim, respectively, Chief of Staff to Governor Aminu Tambuwal, Alhaji Muktar Magori, among others.
