WASHINGTON â House Speaker Nancy Pelosi says a committee investigating the Jan. 6 Capitol insurrection âwill do the job it set out to doâ despite Republicansâ vow to boycott the probe.
House GOP Leader Kevin McCarthy said on Wednesday that Republicans wonât participate after Pelosi rejected two of the Republicans he chose to sit on the panel, Reps. Jim Banks of Indiana and Jim Jordan of Ohio. Pelosi made clear on Thursday that she wonât relent, telling reporters that the two men âtook actions that made it ridiculous to put them on such a committee seeking the truth.â
âIt is my responsibility as the speaker of the House to make sure we get to the truth of this, and we will not let their antics stand in the way of that,â Pelosi said.
