A group of people calling itself Prachachon Khon Thai (Thai people) on Tuesday headed to the US embassy in Bangkok to ask the US to stop interfering in Thailand’s internal affairs and stop fuelling conflicts among groups of Thais with different political opinions.
Led by Nitithorn Lamlua, a lawyer known for his role as a co-leader of the now-defunct People’s Democratic Reform Committee (PDRC), the group rallied outside the US embassy on Tuesday morning before submitting a letter to US Chargé d’Affaires Michael Heath. The letter was received by a political coordination officer, said a source.

Adul: Wants to build momentum
Anti-government sentiment has advanced to such a point where a term has been coined to amplify the opponents disdain of the administration: Prayutocracy .
The suffix cracy was popularised by critics of the Thaksin Shinawatra government, who invented the term Thaksinocracy which, as one analyst put it, sums up governmental excesses. These included cronyism, conflicts of interest, irregularities and large-scale solidifying of political power.
The term was adopted by protesters to intensify their attack against Thaksin towards the end of his administration which was overthrown in September 2006 by a military coup headed by army chief Sonthi Boonyaratglin, who later became president of the Administrative Reform Council.

Former UDD head can no longer count on support of red shirt rank and file

1 voices in unison: Pheu Thai Party members participate in the opening day of Red shirt Village for Democracy set up in Udon Thani province in September 2011.
There is a lot riding on veteran activist Jatuporn Prompan kick-starting a mass protest targeting Prime Minister Prayut Chan-o-cha s ouster.
But if Mr Jatuporn thought that because he chairs the United Front for Democracy against Dictatorship (UDD) he could count on the support of the red shirts to solidify the campaign against the government, he may be heading for disappointment.
