LJUBLJANA (Slovenia), February 24 (SeeNews) - Slovenia s parliament said it appointed Janez Poklukar as new health minister, to replace Tomaz Gantar who resigned in December.
The nomination of Poklukar for the position of health minister was approved in a 50-31 vote in the 90-seat parliament, the assembly said in a notice on Tuesday.
Poklukar is the director of University Medical Centre Ljubljana, the largest hospital in Slovenia.
Tomaz Gantar resigned after his Democratic Party of Pensioners of Slovenia (DeSUS) voted to leave the government coalition over political disagreements. Prime minister Janez Jansa has held the duties of health minister since then.
