Mayor Sara asks cops to intensify ops vs illegal selling of liquors

Published July 21, 2021, 2:00 PM DAVAO CITY Mayor Sara Duterte asked the Davao City Police Office (DCPO) to intensify operations against individuals selling intoxicating beverages in communities despite the implementation of a ban on alcoholic drinks to stem the spread of coronavirus disease (COVID-19). This after the local government received reports that alcoholic drinks are being sold at a much higher price amid the prohibition. Duterte told Davao City Disaster Radio (DCDR 87.5) on Monday that the prohibition on buying and selling of liquors remains in effect even after the community quarantine status of the city eased to General Community Quarantine (GCQ) with heightened restrictions starting July 16 until 31 after 40 days of being under Modified Enhanced Community Quarantine (MECQ) June 5 to July 15.

Published July 20, 2021, 8:04 AM Mayors in Metro Manila are urging the Inter-Agency Task Force (IATF) for the Management of Emerging Infectious Diseases to suspend its decision allowing minors from five to 17 years old in outdoor areas in the National Capital Region (NCR) because of the threat of the highly contagious Delta variant. Metro Manila Council Chairman and Paranaque City Mayor Edwin Olivarez confirmed that the Metro Manila mayors unanimously decided to recommend to the IATF the deferment of its decision. Parañaque City Mayor Edwin Olivarez (FACEBOOK/ MANILA BULLETIN) Olivarez, in an interview with Teleradyo, said the youngsters who are now allowed outside of their residence have not been vaccinated yet and could be the one to spread various variants of COVID-19.
