2021 Webby Awards: Google, HBO and Comedy Central Lead With Most Nominations

The 2021 Webby Award nominations were announced on Tuesday, and Google, HBO and Comedy Central are leading the pack with the most nominations.
HBO Max, Peacock, MasterClass, CNN and PBS were all nominated for the best streaming service award for mobile and over-the-top app features. “Stephen Colbert at Home,” Comedy Central, the Fail Army Facebook page and “The Daily Show” Twitter account are all in the running for the humor award.

Winners of the 25th Annual Webby Awards, presented by the International Academy of Digital Arts and Sciences (IADAS), will be announced May 18. The awards show, available to stream at webbyawards.com, will be hosted by actor-writer-podcaster-advocate Jameela Jamil (“The Good Place”) and will feature the Webbys’ trademark five-word acceptance speeches from honorees.

The shortlists for the 2021 ceremony - set to take place on May 18 with Jameela Jamil at host - have been revealed by the International Academy of Digital Arts & Sciences, with HBO and Comedy Central leading the way with 20 and 19 nods respectively across the board.
The likes of Cardi B, Kevin Bacon, Jennifer Garner, Sir David Attenborough, Barack Obama and James Corden are also among the nominees across a range of categories.
Elsewhere, WWE s social media platforms are in the running in the sports category, while the company s WrestleMania 36 show is listed under Events & Livesteams (Social Content Series & Campaigns).

On April 20 local time, the 25th annual Webby Awards announced this year’s nominees, and BTS made the list more than once.
Founded in 1996, the Webby Awards honor excellence on the internet in a wide array of categories, including websites and mobile sites; video; advertising, media, and public relations; apps and software; social; podcasts; and games.
BTS has been nominated in the Music (Virtual & Remote) category for their “Map of the Soul ON:E” online concert, as well as the Variety & Reality (General Video) category for their “Carpool Karaoke” segment on CBS’s “The Late Late Show with James Corden.”
