Somerset County Public Schools extend COVID-19 school closures through to January 25th
January 11, 2021
That’s a week after their previous return date, which was set for Tuesday, January 19th.
School officials say this is due to persisting rates of infection in the county. As of January 25th, Somerset County’s 7-day positivity rate stands at 9.76% and case rate per 100,000 is 66.92. Despite lower numbers than the week of January 4th, infection rates are still above the state’s recommended percentage for safe in-person learning.
Student meals are available for curbside pickup at Deal Island Elementary, Greenwood Elementary, Princess Anne Elementary, Washington High School, Somerset Intermediate, Woodson Elementary and Crisfield High School between 10:30 a.m. and 1:00 p.m. each school day.
