Sarpanch fired upon in Sopore ‘He is stable’ Police Sopore: Panic gripped in Krankshivan area of North Kashmir’s Sopore Town when unidentified gunman fired upon a Sarpanch at point blank range soon after he was coming out from Masjid after Friday prayers. Eyewitnesses told CNS that Sarpanch Khazar Mohammad Parrey son of Mohammad Ramzan from Halka Sangrama was fired upon by a single assailant after Friday prayers in Krankshivan area of Sopore. “It was a pistol fire and the bullet hit his face,” he said. Sarpanch was rushed to SMHS Hospital Srinagar where he was operated. “The bullet has hit his face and the part of the mouth has got damaged. We have shifted him to ward number one after operation and he is stable,” one of the doctors at SMHS hospital told CNS.
