Police fear missing Sophie, 17, is with older man in Blackpool Police say they are growing increasingly concerned for a teenager missing fromeast Lancashire and now believed to be in Blackpool. Saturday, 3rd April 2021, 4:14 pm Sophie Wilson is missing from home in Nelson and officers say they now believe she is now in the Blackpool area and in the company of an older man, named as Steven Purkhardt, aged 38 and thought to be from Kirkham. The force in the resort has appealed or anyone who sees her or Steven Purkhardt to get in touch urgently. Sophie is 17 years old, approximately 5 5 tall, and has long blonde hair. She was last seen wearing a grey top and zip up hoody.

Lockdown learning: Havering students tell their experiences

The Recorder spoke to students from the Royal Liberty, Bower Park Academy and Havering College. This is their take. Most students agreed the best thing about lockdown was not having to get up and go in to school. Niamh Scannell, in Year 11 at Bower Park, Collier Row, said: It’s a lot easier to go off and practise as all the work is on Teams and you can email teachers.
