MTN Uganda at the tail of last year launched a loyalty program dubbed, MTN Senkyu to appreciate its customers for using their services and their loyalty to the company. The program is not new but a revamp of the MTN 141 allowing customers to use points on more than just data and airtime.

International Medical Group (IMG), the parent company of International Hospital Kampala (IHK) and International Medical Center (IMC) together with MTN Uganda have signed a Memorandum of Understanding to provide a digital approach to medical access across the country.

The Chief Marketing Officer MTN-Uganda Somdev Sen says although some of their urban clients have embraced the new technology, the rural population is yet to adapt to it because their income streams have been adversely affected by the effects of the pandemic.
He says currently, just about 35% of people buying new smart phones acquire 4G devices.
Somdev made the remarks at the company’s launch of a new data bundle package with no expiry date.
He says currently, the total number of internet users in Uganda is estimated at just over 6.8 million, of which about 3.4million are mobile data subscribers.
MTN renews Onduparaka FC sponsorship

MTN Uganda has renewed its sponsorship contract with Onduparaka FC for another year. The renewed sponsorship deal from MTN also entailed the unveiling of a new jersey for the club for the 2020/21 season.
MTN has sponsored the West Nile based club since the 2017/18 season. While announcing the sponsorship renewal at a press conference held at Hotel Africana in Kampala, Somdev Sen, the MTN Uganda chief marketing officer highlighted MTN’s intentions to continue supporting local sports across the country.
