SRINAGAR: Apni Party President Syed Mohammed Altaf Bukhari today said that political parties in Peoples’ Alliance for Gupkar Declaration have been finding ways to get rid of each other following District Development Council elections in J&K. Retired Deputy Director, Indian System Medicine (ISM), Dr Rohit Gupta joined Apni Party in presence of Altaf Bukhari and other senior leaders. RPPs reference: Hearing on Pervaiz Ashraf s acquittal plea adjourned till Jan 6

National December 23, 2020 ISLAMABAD: An accountability court Tuesday adjourned hearing till January 06 on acquittal pleas of former prime minister Raja Pervaiz Ashraf and others in rental power projects (RPPs) reference. AC-III Judge Syed Asghar Ali conducted hearing on acquittal pleas on graft references moved by the National Accountability Bureau (NAB). The court adjourned hearing on the case due to absence of the NAB prosecutor. Meanwhile, AC-I Judge Muhammad Bashir postponed the indictment of former prime minister Shaukat Aziz and others till January 19 in a reference pertaining to alleged misuse of authority. The defence lawyer informed the court that accused Basharat Hassan could not appear as he was infected by coronavirus. The court adjourned hearing without proceeding due to incomplete attendance of the accused.

A hearing for the reference was held on Tuesday by accountability judge Syed Asghar Ali. According to Geo News, the former director-general of Pakistan Sports Board Akhtar Nawaz Ganjera, Sarfraz Rasool, ministry of planning officer Asif Sheikh, and a private contractor named Muhammad Ahmed were also charged for their involvement in the case.

Three witnesses testify in Toshakhana case - Newspaper

ISLAMABAD: The accountability court of Islamabad on Thursday recorded state-ments of three witnesses in Toshakhana reference. The prosecution placed before the court record of salaries disbursed to former president Asif Ali Zardari and documentation related to purchase of bulletproof cars. The court summoned five more accused on Dec 23. The court was told that Mr Zardari had received Rs5 million while he was holding the office of president from 2009 to 2013. Accountability Judge Syed Asghar Ali allowed applications seeking exemption from personal appearance of Mr Zardari and former prime minister Syed Yousuf Raza Gilani. Section officer of the Cabinet Division Kaleem Ahmed, former section officer Mohammad Khalil and account officer for the Accountant General Pakistan Revenue Abdul Rashid recorded their statements and produced record related to disposing of the bulletproof vehicles.
