This will be a good news for the telecom sector and for the nation that the federal cabinet has approved to give status of industry to telecom sector and now onward the industry will enjoy all the benefits, which the other industries of the country are availing, said Syed Amin Ul Haque, minister for IT and Telecommunication at a news conference.

IT Minister Appointed As STI President

IT minister appointed as STI President Mon 15th February 2021 | 05:40 PM ISLAMABAD, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 15th Feb, 2021 ) :Minister for IT and Telecommunication Syed Amin Ul Haque has been appointed as President of Global Science, Technology and Innovation (STI) Committee of the WorldBusiness Angels Investment Forum (WBAF), a sub-organization of G20 countries. The WBAF has selected Pakistanfrom 127 countries for the office of Committee s President while India was also in a queue to hold this important position. However, the position was secured by the Pakistan, a news release said here on Monday. The appointment of Syed Amin Ul Haque as President of the STI Committee was based on his prominent role in the IT and Telecom sector in Pakistan.

USF awards High Speed Mobile Broadband services contract worth Rs 1 37 bln for Chitral, Upper Dir & Lower Dir districts

USF inks contract to provide High Speed Mobile Broadband service to three districts of KP February 10, 2021 The Universal Srevice Fund (USF) has awarded contract worth approximately PKR 1.37 Billion to Telenor for providing High Speed Mobile Broadband services in Chitral, Upper Dir and Lower Dir districts of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province. Federal Minister for IT and Telecommunication, Syed Amin Ul Haque and Special Assistant to the Prime Minister (SAPM) for Overseas Pakistanis & HRD, Syed Zulfiqar Abbas Bukhari witnessed the contract signing ceremony held at the USF Office, Islamabad on Wednesday. The contracts were signed by Haaris Mahmood Chaudhary, CEO, USF with Irfan Wahab Khan, CEO Telenor. The Federal Secretary for IT & Telecommunication and Chairman USF Board, Shoaib Ahmad Siddiqui, Chairman PTA, Major General (R) Amir Azeem Bajwa and other Officials were also present at the ceremony.
