On May 10, 2021, the Cypress City Council approved a residential development on overflow parking at Los Alamitos Race Course. The land will be developed by Melia Homes.
At that time, the developer’s representative said that the property would be fenced off once its sale cleared escrow. He expected that to occur around the middle of July 2021.
This afternoon, driving through the area, we discovered that the fencing is now being installed.

If you have been accustomed to cutting through the Costco parking lot, then across the Race Course parking lot to reach the commerical center anchored by 24-Hour Fitness, you will no longer be able to do so. You will need to go south on Walker St., turn west on Katella Ave., and then turn into the commercial center from Katella Ave.
