Cyprus tourism will continue to face challenges in summer 2021 but future looks promising, conference hears

An online conference on “The challenges facing the restart of Cyprus Tourism”,  acknowledged that tourism for the summer 2021 will continue to be difficult but summer 2022 will offer more hope. However, participants  called for seamless procedures and more cost efficient testing done to passengers arriving on the island.<br /

At the same time 251 people with the disease are in hospital, 64 of whom in a serious condition. The number of deaths has now reached 283, 186 (66%) men and 97 (34%) women with a median age of 78. The number of cases 53,944. In a press release the Ministry of Health said that the deceased where three men aged 67, 68 and 82 and three women aged 85, 97 and 71 all with underlying health conditions. Two of them had received the first dose of the COVID-19 vaccine.

   Inquiry committee on citizenships by investment to hand over interim report to Attorney General         Cyprus National Guard participates in military exercise “INIOCHOS”         Police report 180 individuals for violating COVID-19 measures          CNA - Cyprus/NICOSIA 16/04/2021 10:21 Cyprus National Guard participates for the fifth consecutive year in multinational medium scale exercise “INIOCHOS” that takes place annually in Greece, with the participation of other countries` air forces. According to a press release issued by the Defence Ministry, this year the exercise began on April 12 and will wrap up on April 22. Apart from Greece and the Republic of Cyprus, forces from France, Israel, Spain, the United Arab Emirates, US and Canada participate in the exercise as well as observers from other countries.
