Cyberpunk 2077 Developers CD Projekt Red Could Now be Facing a Huge Fine

According to Małgorzata Cieloch, the spokesperson of Poland’s Office of Competition and Consumer Protection (UOKiK), and reported by Dziennik Gazeta Prawna, CD Projekt Red could be facing a fine of 10 per cent of their turnover from the previous year, should they fail to rectify the major issues with the game.
The translated statement from the UOKiK reads:
“We will check how the manufacturer is working on introducing corrections or solving difficulties that prevent the game from playing on different consoles, but also how it intends to act in relation to people who have complained and are dissatisfied with the purchase due to the inability to play the game on their equipment despite the manufacturer’s previous assurances,”

Probably the most controversial title to be launched this year, Cyberpunk 2077 was teased in E3 2017 with a high-profile appearance by Keanu Reeves.
Fast forward to today when the game is finally launched amid the pandemic and possibly the worst controversy for a major game launch ever.
It didn’t help that there was so much hype about the game over the years leading up to the launch, the constant delays and sky-high expectations of the developer, CD Projekt Red, who created the acclaimed Witcher series of games.
Most issues are reported on those playing on the last-generation PlayStation 4 and Xbox One consoles, so much so that the title was pulled off the PlayStation Store, with Sony offering refunds for the game. The PC and Xbox versions of the game are still available at the time of writing.
Polish video games producer CD Projekt it sticking to plans to update its strategy in the first quarter of 2021, its chief executive said on Monday, despite the issues the company faces with its flagship Cyberpunk 2077.
