Police officers shoot and wound a man in Danville

DANVILLE, Calif. - Authorities responded to a police shooting in Danville Thursday afternoon.
The shooting happened just after noon at Sycamore Valley Road and Camino Ramon between Brookside Drive and San Ramon Valley Boulevard.
The condition of the man who was shot is unknown. He was taken to John Muir Medical Center in Walnut Creek.
Officials said officers were responding to reports of a man throwing rocks at cars along Interstate 680. The officer approached the subject who was standing in the street. As the officer tried to talk to him, the subject pulled out a folding knife and then opened it, a news release from the Town of Danville read.
