Water sourcing location will be moved to the upstream of Saigon River   Vice-Chairman of HCM City People s Committee Le Hoa Binh has approved the city plan for water supply system during the 2020-2025 period and the clean water supply and the clean water supply and end of groundwater extraction programme during the 2020-2030 period.

According to the Hanoi Department of Natural Resources and Environment, the air quality index at the city’s 34 air monitoring stations this morning, January 21 faced extremely severe pollution. Four stations located in Thanh Xuan District, Cau Giay District and Hoan Kiem District had the worst results.     The department’s Environmental Protection Board said that the content of high fine particulate matters of PM 2.5 and PM 10 increased by 1.3-2 times against the day before. Weather conditions with the thick dense smog and high moisture is among the major causes of the serious pollution in the city, the board added.

The planning must be followed by careful implementation, which is a weakness of urban areas in Vietnam, he said. In many cases, urban planning is drawn up but there is no plan to implement it. And sometimes construction works develop in an uncoordinated way. As for Thu Duc, a new city, it is necessary to implement proper planning in a comprehensive way.

According to Vietnam National Administration of Tourism (VNAT), there were 3,339 travel firms as of the end of 2019, including 2,519 international and 820 domestic travel firms. Because of Covid-19, 90-95 percent of travel firms have suspended operation and 338 firms no longer have licenses. International travel firms have shifted to provide domestic travel services. More than 400 leading Vietnamese travel firms attended a forum on January 12 in Hai Phong to discuss solutions in the context of Covid-19.
