Rupee ends 6 paise higher at 73.49 against US dollar

× The rupee appreciated by 6 paise to close at 73.49 (provisional) against the US dollar on Monday, tracking weakness in the American currency and positive domestic equities.
The sustained foreign fund inflows also supported the rupee, traders said.
At the interbank forex market, the domestic unit opened at 73.52 against the US dollar and witnessed an intra-day high of 73.47 and a low of 73.61.
The local unit finally settled at 73.49 against the American currency, registering a rise of 6 paise over its previous close.
On Thursday, the rupee had settled at 73.55 against the US dollar.

Rupee settles 5 paise lower at 73.84 against US dollar
Mumbai: The rupee pared most of its initial losses and settled for the day 5 paise lower at 73.84 (provisional) against the US dollar on Tuesday, tracking a rebound in domestic equities.
At the interbank forex market, the domestic unit opened at 73.95 against the US dollar and witnessed an intra-day high of 73.82 and a low of 73.95.
The local unit finally closed at 73.84 against the American currency, registering a fall of 5 paise over its previous close.
On Monday, the rupee plunged 23 paise to end at a two-week low of 73.79 against the US dollar.
Meanwhile, the dollar index, which gauges the greenback’s strength against a basket of six currencies, was trading 0.29 per cent higher at 90.30.
Rupee climbs 5 paise to 73.58 per US dollar
Brent crude futures, the global oil benchmark, rose 0.26 per cent to USD 50.89 per barrel.

Strong domestic equities also strengthened investor sentiment, traders said.
At the interbank forex market, the rupee opened at 73.49 against the US dollar and witnessed an intra-day high of 73.48 and a low of 73.60.
The local unit finally closed at 73.58 against the American currency, registering a gain of 5 paise over its previous close.
On Tuesday, the rupee had depreciated by 8 paise to end at 73.63.
The dollar index, which gauges the greenback’s strength against a basket of six currencies, slipped 0.35 per cent to 90.15.
Rupee settles 9 paise higher at 73.55 against US dollar
Mumbai : The rupee advanced by 9 paise to settle at 73.55 (provisional) against the US dollar on Monday, buoyed by sustained foreign fund inflows and heavy buying in domestic equities.
Traders said upbeat industrial production data and weakening of the American currency in the overseas market also supported the rupee.
At the interbank forex market, the domestic unit opened at 73.62 against the US dollar, then gained ground and touched an intra-day high of 73.48 against the greenback. The local unit finally closed at 73.55 against the American currency, registering a rise of 9 paise over its previous close.
