BBMP seeks citizens support to end public urination, to build new public toilet
The Budget Bus, an integral vehicle of the #MyCityMyBudget campaign, was flagged off by Bruhat Bengaluru Mahanagara Palike (BBMP) Commissioner N Manjunath Prasad in the presence of citizens and RWAs on Monday. Around 50 lakh people use BMTC buses. However, a survey reveals that people use 50 per cent of the trips to travel 1 to 2 kilometres. If citizens have access to citizen-friendly footpaths, they would prefer to walk than depend on transport, said BBMP Commissioner Manjunath Prasad. Bengaluru has roads and streets that stretch up to 14,000 kilometres. However, many of these roads lack footpaths. Even if existing, many are not pedestrian-friendly. They are narrow, have missing slabs, dumped with garbage/debris and not walkable. Bengaluru weather is favourable for people to walk, but people feel discouraged due to lack of infrastructure. BMTC Bus Pass: Bengaluru Students Can Apply From Today Dec 21, 2020, 17:28 IST
Bangalore Metropolitan Transport Corporation (BMTC) has updated that the applications for bus passes will be open. Students can apply for it online on Seva Sindhu or BMTC website from December 21.
Any student can apply for this. This includes students from any college, degree, graduation, professional; etc can apply for the bus pass.
Once the application has been submitted, the students will need to get an approval from their respective educational centres. Upon getting the approval, students can then collect the bus pass from BangaloreOne centres.
The applications have begun from today. There is an option to schedule the date and time as well. The passes can be collected from anytime between 8 am and 6.30 pm. This information was given by BMTC, last week.
Financial aid for theses

The Department of Kannada and Culture has invited applications from candidates who have completed M.Phil and Ph.D for obtaining financial assistance for publication of their theses. Candidates who have received M.Phil degree for their thesis (written in Kannada language) on any subjects and Ph.D holders for their thesis (written in Kannada language) from Universities, in the academic year 2019-20, are eligible to apply for financial aid.
Kannada non-fiction works published between January 2019 and December 2019 (first edition) are also considered. For publication of M.Phil and Ph.D theses, applications should be submitted through Seva Sindhu portal. Apply for BMTC bus pass from December 21

The Bangalore Metropolitan Transport Corporation (BMTC) has invited online applications from degree, professional, technical, medical, and evening college students for bus passes. Students can apply on the Seva Sindhu or BMTC website from December 21.
In a release, the BMTC said that after getting approval from their respective educational institutions, students can opt to collect their passes from BangaloreOne centres. They will also be given the option to schedule the date and time to collect them.
Students have been asked to carry an acknowledgement copy, college ID card, fee receipt, and an attestation letter from the head of their institute while visiting the centres. Passes will be issued from 8 a.m. to 6.30 p.m. The list of BangaloreOne pass counters is available on the BMTC website.
