Shortly before 10 a.m. Saturday, officers were notified of the shooting in the 1300 block of Royster Road, near Altamesa Boulevard and Village Parkway, police said. They found the woman, who has not been identified, shot there, and she was pronounced dead at the scene.

Credit: Genomics England Scientists involved in a Covid-19 genetic research study have issued an urgent call to Londoners who caught the virus to donate blood at special pop-up centres opening across the capital. From this Saturday (April 24), the city’s first temporary centres, including on the Barnet/Enfield border, will open their doors to volunteers. The unique GenOMICC Covid-19 study analyses the genes of people who have had the virus to discover why some experienced no symptoms while others became extremely ill. The study is already contributing to the fight again Covid, with preliminary results helping identify possible new treatments.

Roads to be closed in Enfield from Sunday for roadworks

Picture: Google Street View Roads in Enfield are set to be temporarily closed while roadworks are carried out from this weekend. The traffic restrictions are detailed by Enfield Council in notices published in this week’s edition of the Enfield Independent. Green Street, between Jute Lane and Brimsdown Avenue, is set to be shut overnight on Sunday and Monday, as and when directed by signage. The closure will be in place from 10pm to 5am each day and traffic will be diverted via Green Street, Hertford Road, Nags Head Road and Mollison Avenue.
