The Mud Hens announced on Tuesday their season wont begin on April 4th as planned. The Toledo Mud Hens were informed tonight about Major League Baseballs decision to delay the start of the Triple-A season by approximately four weeks the Mud Hens stated.
No other details were released by the organization or Major League Baseball. In the Mud Hens statement, the team said they will inform their season ticket holders when more information becomes available.
Triple-A joins Double-A and Single-A, who were already set to start their seasons in May. The MLB will use the same system they did in the 2020 season and Toledo will serve as a satellite camp for the first month of the Major League season.

LAKELAND, Fla. If you had planned on catching a Toledo Mud Hens’ game in April, it looks like you’ll have to wait another month.
The schedules for Class A and Class AA leagues had already been delayed.
The move will allow a greater number of players and fans to be vaccinated. There had been some concern about Triple-A players taking commercial airlines and then being called up to the big leagues, where they would be mixed with players who had been under stricter quarantine requirements. That will be less of an issue now.
