La Palmera to host standing COVID-19 vaccine clinic A standing COVID-19 vaccine clinic at La Palmera and a program to vaccinate homeless people are in the works, Corpus Christi and Nueces County officials said Thursday. The La Palmera clinic will launch Tuesday and will be open Monday through Sunday during regular mall hours, public health director Annette Rodriguez said during the city and county’s weekly COVID-19 briefing. People can pre-register or register on site, Rodriguez said. Officials hope to have at least 100 doses available every day. The East Texas counties added are Cass, Henderson, Hopkins, Marion, Rains, Sabine, San Augustine, Shelby, Titus, Trinity, Upshur, Van Zandt, Wood. The Texas Division of Emergency (TDEM) and the Texas Military Department (TMD) work alongside local jurisdictions to set up a central drive-through vaccine clinic in each community or administer directly to homebound seniors these decisions are driven by local officials as they identify vulnerable residents in their communities to participate in this program.
