The Bucs waived rookie linebacker Chapelle Russell and elevated newly-signed linebacker Deone Bucannon from the practice squad in his place. In addition to Bucannon, offensive guard Ted Larsen, cornerback Herb Miller and defensive linemen Benning Potoa’e were also elevated from the Bucs’ practice squad to the 54-man roster.

Jack Cichy will finish the 2020 season where he began it. The Tampa Bay Buccaneers have re-signed the third-year linebacker after placing outside linebacker Shaquil Barrett and inside linebacker Devin White on the reserve/COVID-19 list on Friday.
Tampa Bay signed Cichy off the New England Patriots practice squad, where he had spent the last three weeks. The Patriots initially claimed him after the Buccaneers put him on waivers on December 3 but then waived him after a failed physical. The Patriots then signed him to the practice squad.
The #GoBucs have signed LB Jack Cichy from the Patriots practice squad. He is headed back to Tampa Bay with White and Barrett going on the reserve/COVID list.
A sixth-round draft pick to the Bucs by way of Wisconsin in 2018, Cichy totaled six tackles in 15 games over three seasons with Tampa Bay but found also found himself on the injured reserve in each season. After landing on the injured reserve with a hamstring injury in 2020, Cichy was activated in late November, waived on Dec. 2 and claimed by the Patriots before being signed to New England’s practice squad.
Cichy will provide familiar depth at inside linebacker, along with rookie Chapelle Russell, behind Lavonte David and veteran Kevin Minter who is expected to start in place of White against Atlanta on Sunday.
