In the weekend’s first contest, Chicago smothered Iowa, lighting up rookie Hunter Jones for nine goals in two periods alone. The Wolves notched four goals in the game’s first ten minutes two courtesy of Anthony Richard and Rem Pitlick and bested themselves in the second with five, including Cole Smith’s first career tally.

Despite the Wild controlling play throughout the afternoon, Chicago got off to an early start with two first-period goals from Carolina’s Morgan Geekie. Rem Pitlick added his sixth of the season in the middle frame, and Tanner Jeannot added an empty netter to secure the victory despite the Wolves recording just 14 shots on net.

The Chicago Wolves became the American Hockey League’s first 4-0 team and kept the Grand Rapids Griffins winless Thursday afternoon, breaking a third-period tie before adding an empty-netter for a 4-2 win at the Triphahn Center Ice Arena in Chicago.
Dennis Cholowski scored his first goal of the season 6:07 into the third to complete Grand Rapids’ comeback from a 2-0 deficit, but David Cotton notched his second of the game 1:26 later to put Chicago ahead for good.

Kyle Criscuolo was back in a Grand Rapids Griffins uniform for the first time in four years Friday night, and it took him less than eight minutes to make his presence felt.
Unfortunately for Grand Rapids, Crisuolo’s first-period power play goal was the only goal the Griffins scored in Chicago. The Wolves scored three unanswered goals to beat Grand Rapids 3-1 at the Triphahn Center.
