HBO Max’s Green Lantern series has found its star in Finn Wittrock, Deadline reported Friday. The
American Horror Story star will play Guy Gardner in the upcoming series though he won’t be the only Green Lantern in play.
From Berlanti Productions, the studio behind the CW’s Arrowverse, the Green Lantern series will reinvent the DC hero in a story “spanning decades and galaxies.” It starts off with the first ever Green Lantern in 1941, secretly gay FBI agent Alan Scott, and then moves to 1984 with Guy Gardner and half-alien Bree Jatra. There will be other Lanterns not just from the comics, but also some original to the show.

“Green Lantern” has found one of its Green Lanterns. Finn Wittrock will play the Guy Gardner version of the DC Comics superhero on the upcoming HBO Max series.
Gardner is described as “a hulking mass of masculinity, and, as rendered in the comics, an embodiment of 1980s hyper-patriotism. And yet, Guy is somehow likable.”
Wittrock’s Guy will be joined by multiple Green Lanterns in the series, which spans multiple decades. Along with Gardner, it will feature the Jessica Cruz, Simon Baz and Alan Scott versions of the character, as well as other notable characters like Sinestro and Kilowog.

Wittrock will play one of the most intense Green Lanterns in comic book history.
HBO Max s upcoming Green Lantern TV show has found one of its leads. The series added Finn Wittrock to the cast as Guy Gardner. The news was revealed by DC Comics.
Wittrock is best known for his role as Dandy Mott in the Freakshow season of American Horror Story. This is the first casting news from the HBO Max show. Back in January, the show was ordered to series, and Green Lantern s first season will consist of 10 hour-long episodes.
We learned back in October 2019 with the push for the HBO Max streaming service that a
Green Lantern project was in the works along with
Strange Adventures based on the DC Comics properties. They’re coming under Berlanti Productions which has handled the majority of recent DC efforts on TV but it’s expected that this one will be standing on its own in most ways.
Now, the first bit of casting has come for it with Finn Wittrock of
American Horror Story coming on to play Guy Gardner, one of the more infamous Green Lantern’s from the storied history of the property. According to Deadline, “Wittrock’s Guy Gardner/Green Lantern is a hulking mass of masculinity, and, as rendered in the comics, an embodiment of 1980s hyper-patriotism.
