Bothwell Recognizes Staff During National Nurses Week
Bothwell Regional Health Center recognized nominees and presented Nurse of the Year and Nursing Support Person of the Year awards and a DAISY Award May 6 during National Nurses Week.
The recipients of the Pat Gaunt Nursing and Hickman Excellence scholarships were also announced by the Bothwell Foundation.
National Nurses Week highlights the contributions of nurses from all over the world and the strength and fortitude they have demonstrated through the challenges of the last year. Each year, Nurses Week begins on May 6 and ends May 12, Florence Nightingale’s birthday. This year’s theme was “The Year of the Nurse.
City of Sedalia to Observe Memorial Day
The City of Sedalia will observe the Memorial Day holiday on Monday, May 31.
Offices in the Municipal Building and the City s Materials Management Site at 27882 Highway U will be closed in observance of the holiday.
Weekly trash pickup for the week of May 31 will follow the normal collection schedule.
All City offices, including the Materials management Site will re-open Tuesday, June 1.
SNAP participants can double up on delicious fruits and vegetables by taking advantage of the Double Up Food Bucks program at the Sedalia Area Farmers Market this summer.
According to a post on the Sedalia Area Farmers Market Facebook page, SNAP participants who shop at our market can swipe their EBT cards to get tokens to use for food purchases. Through the Double Up program, SNAP participants receive a matching number of Double Up Food Bucks tokens for free, up to $25.00 a day. This doubles the amount of dollars they can spend on healthy food at the market.
The SNAP tokens can be used to buy any eligible SNAP items at the market, and the Double Up Food Bucks can be used to purchase any fresh fruit or vegetables being sold at the market.
