The Deschutes County Board of Commissioners will host a public hearing on the Community Development Department’s Work Plan for Fiscal Year 2021-22 on Wednesday, May 12, at 11 a.m. Residents can provide testimony virtually or in person at the Deschutes Services Building, located at 1300 NW Wall Street in Bend. In-person attendance will be limited. Instructions for virtual testimony are available at www.deschutes.org/
The proposed work plan outlines the department’s anticipated projects and goals for the coming year, including the following highlights:
Sustaining high customer service levels while transitioning to and implementing new post-pandemic business operations, including public engagement strategies with hybrid in-person and virtual participation strategies.

Lelack named sole finalist to be next Deschutes County administrator

BEND, Ore. (KTVZ) The Deschutes County Board of Commissioners on Tuesday invited the community to meet Nick Lelack, the finalist being considered as Deschutes County’s next county administrator, at a forum later this month.
Deschutes County will host a virtual community forum on Monday, May 17, at 6 p.m., where Lelack will share a short presentation and answer questions from the community. Following the forum, community members will have the opportunity to submit feedback to the Board of Commissioners.

Callers to meeting voice criticism; one urges resignation
BEND, Ore. (KTVZ) The Redmond City Council opened its meeting Tuesday night with controversy as Councilor Krisanna Clark-Endicott received citizen criticism for a now-deleted Facebook post on South Dakota s new legislation.
One caller during the visitors portion of the agenda called for Clark-Endicott s resignation for what she says was a bigoted statement. I recommend she resigns and moves to South Dakota as she indicated she would like to do, the caller said.
