A man accused of robbing a Secaucus Walmart was later found with meth at a motel on Route 3, authorities said.
Robin Harrison, 34, was identified as the suspect of a robbery that occurred at the Walmart Supercenter on Park Plaza Drive on Feb. 21 around 2:45 p.m., Secaucus Police Chief Dennis Miller said.
Harrison, of Norwalk, CT, was found at the Hilton Garden Inn on Route 3 east and taken into custody around 3 p.m. the next day, Miller said.
Harrison was charged with robbery as well as possession of methamphetamine and paraphernalia, authorities said.
He was being held at the Hudson County Jail.

A Jersey City man thought he outsmarted Secaucus police when he escaped a traffic stop last week by reporting a bogus armed robbery in the area.
The officers who had pulled over 58-year-old Raymond Meyers at 3:19 a.m. in the area of County Avenue and Secaucus Road on Feb. 18 left him to respond to the reported robbery and Meyers went on his way.
But the long arm of the law caught up with Meyers after an investigation into the false report led police to him as the person who called 911, Secaucus Police Chief Dennis Miller said. Meyers was later arrested at his home.

Two people from Ohio were arrested with loaded handguns after a traffic stop on Route 3 in Secaucus Wednesday, authorities said.
Secaucus Police Officer Michael Borrelli noticed a vehicle that did not have a driver-side mirror traveling east on Route 3 and pulled over the vehicle, Secaucus Police Chief Dennis Miller said. During the 7:54 p.m. stop, the officer detected the odor of marijuana from the passenger side of the vehicle and saw suspected marijuana protruding out of the passenger’s front pants pocket, Miller said.

A New York driver who was charged with DUI and eluding compounded his legal problems hours later when he arrived to the Secaucus police station and became belligerent, authorities said.
Amidou Ganame, 32, struck the concrete barrier on Route 3 West in Secaucus multiple times before 1 a.m. on Jan. 27, Secaucus Police Chief Dennis Miller said. He was located on Route 120 and eventually stopped on Route 17 in Hasbrouck Heights, Miller said.
Aside from the eluding and DUI, Ganame was charged with unlawful possession of a weapon, specifically a butcher’s knife, Miller said. He was charged with an additional six motor vehicle summonses and was released from police custody.

While small businesses across the state struggled get government loans to remain open during the coronavirus pandemic, a Secaucus teen and a Clifton man were awarded a $10,000 in loans for companies they fabricated, authorities say.
Adam Rodriguez, 22, and Madison Sedell, 19, of Secaucus, applied for three Small Business Administration loans for made-up companies, ranging from agricultural companies to a marketing company, Secaucus Police Chief Dennis Miller said. And while legitimate business owners were denied, Rodriguez and Sedell were approved.
