Contributed photo February 11, 2021 MOST Reverend Pablo Virgilio David, bishop of Kalookan, will be the featured speaker in the first of a lecture series sponsored by Holy Angel University’s Center for Kapampangan Studies to mark the Year of St. Joseph.
The Anloagui Lecture Series, named after the Kapampangan word for “carpenter,” will explore the saint’s various titles in the Catholic Church, such as patron saint of husbands, of workers, of foster parents, and of people wishing for a happy death.
Bishop David’s online lecture is titled “St. Joseph: A Tender and Loving Father, A Father in the Shadows.” It will be held on the saint’s feast day itself, March 19, at 3 o’clock in the afternoon. Details of registration, which is free and open to the general public, will be announced later.

With the support The History Center and due to ongoing COVID-19 health restrictions, in-person lectures will not be offered to the public this year. ARCH will livestream its lectures to everyone who requests a Zoom link in advance.
The series begins this year with a recognition of Black History Month and the role places and people in Fort Wayne and Allen County played in guiding enslaved Blacks to freedom in the decades before the Civil War.
Lecture for budding engineers

Islamabad:The Institution of Engineers Pakistan-Rawalpindi-Islamabad Centre (IEP-RIC) has organised a technical lecture for graduate engineers on the topic of ‘Construction Claims’ to deal with project management issues.
The programme was aimed at apprising the young engineers about their managerial responsibilities and legal obligations in settling different claims and disputes, a press release issued here. The event was arranged by the center as a part of its continuing professional development program (CPD) for the young engineers.
A certified Project Management Professional Engineer Haroon Rashid, who was the guest speaker, highlighted the importance of effective management of claims and disputes in the construction work.
In his first TV speech since seizing power, the military chief told the public to be ‘pragmatic’, but much of his lecture was drowned out by the banging of pots and pans.

Islamabad : Chairman of the Parliamentary Committee on Kashmir Shehryar Khan Afridi Thursday said that Parliament would act as new center to push Kashmir diplomacy.
He expressed these views while addressing the participants of a seminar titled Emerging Dynamics of Kashmir Issue: Predicament and Prospects held under the auspices of Youth Association of Pakistan. Former High Commissioner Dr Abdul Basit, Dr Maria Sultan, Raja Najabat Hussain and others also addressed.
Out of 220 million Pakistanis, 65 percent are between 14 to 35 years old. This young generation needs to become bloggers and activists to raise Kashmir dispute on the digital space where Indian narrative is prevailing and falsehood is being projected as facts.
