“
Even though it was very cold inside the
house in the past winters, we did not insulate it due to limited financial and
human resources. As a result of learning [from the Simple Solution Campaign] I
can now insulate my own house with simple and affordable solutions,” said Ankhbayar
B., a resident of the 16
th Khoroo of Sukhbaatar District.
The Simple Solutions Campaign launched in Sukhbaatar and Songinokhairkhan Districts
three months ago with a call to insulate houses using materials readily
available. I didn t know that heat loss would be
significantly reduced just by insulating our doors and windows,”
explained Ankhbayar B.

Industry support VMS to monitor Commonwealth fisheries
The Australian Fisheries Management Authority (AFMA) is pleased to announce that vessel monitoring system (VMS) compliance from Commonwealth fisheries reached a peak of 99.4% as a result of AFMA’s recent zero-tolerance campaign.
The effort from industry during a recent campaign targeting VMS non-compliance, including failure to have a fully functioning VMS and failure to seek approval to switch off the VMS unit, demonstrated that Australia’s Commonwealth fishers are committed to supporting well-monitored fisheries.
Throughout the month AFMA received 13 Temporary Switch Off applications, seven fishers were referred for follow up by AFMA’s domestic compliance team and one operator was ordered to return to port to rectify their VMS unit.

Boesmanskop and surrounding towns in the Free State became the first areas in SA to experience digital migration when their analogue television transmitters were switched off on Monday.
The ministry of communications and digital technologies and broadcasters this week began the long-awaited process of moving from analogue to digital broadcasting for TV and radio.
The switch-off comes on the back of President Cyril Ramaphosa’s announcement during the state of the nation address last month that the phased switch-off of analogue TV transmitters would begin this month.
