(ROCK HILL HERALD) - A police officer involved in the 2019 fatal shooting of a handcuffed Black man outside a Chester Walmart has filed a counter civil lawsuit against the estate of the dead victim. Ariane McCree died when he was shot by Chester Police Department officers in November 2019, according to police and court records. Court and police records identify the officers involved as Nicholas Harris and Justin Baker.

Parkesburg man arrested on burglary charges

PARKESBURG — A Parkesburg man has been arrested on burglary charges. Police have charged Timothy Michael Adams with burglary and related offenses. On Nov. 19, 2020, just after 4 a.m., police said Adams burglarized a business and stole money. Coin and paper money were stolen. Police recovered evidence at the scene and several individuals stepped forward identifying the suspect for police investigators. Additional charges are pending in this ongoing multi-jurisdictional investigation. Police reports from across the region: - Advertisement - Drug charges Police have charged Dustin Isiah Foy, 41 of New Cumberland, after he and a co-defendant delivered fentanyl and cocaine to undercover officers. Foy was remanded to the Chester County Prison. Police have charged Stephanie Thornton, 32 of Lebanon, after she and a co-defendant delivered fentanyl and cocaine to undercover officers. Thornton was remanded to the Chester County Prison.

Torrie Smith, 31, was sentenced by U.S. District Court Judge William K. Sessions III, according to a news release issued Tuesday by the U.S. Attorney’s office for the District of Vermont. Smith, who at the time of his arrest was splitting time between Manchester and Hartford, Conn., pleaded guilty in early November 2019 to charges of possession with intent to distribute, heroin, cocaine and crack cocaine, federal prosecutors said.

Smith previously pled guilty to possession with intent to distribute, heroin, cocaine, and crack cocaine. Judge Sessions also sentenced Smith to a four-year term of federal supervised release, which will begin after Smith completes his five-year prison term. At the time of his arrest, in April 2019, Smith resided in both Manchester, Vermont and Hartford Connecticut. According to court records, on three separate instances, law enforcement seized significant quantities of drugs from cars in which Smith was either driving or was a passenger:
