New Era Boxing coach attempts world record in aid of Cardiac Risk in the Young

Mark Bebbington A NORTHWICH-based boxing club coach is hoping to set a new world record next month while raising money for Cardiac Risk in the Young (CRY). Mark Bebbington, from New Era Boxing Gym in Queen Street, will be trying to break the Guinness World Record for the number of times pads are continuously held for boxers over the course of three-minute rounds. The current record stands at 360, but Mark has set an ambitious target of 500 rounds. He is taking on the challenge in aid of CRY, a charity which seeks to prevent young sudden cardiac deaths through awareness, screening and research, and supporting affected families.

Industry experts praise Cheshire College technical theatre learners | Chester and District Standard

TECHNICAL theatre learners at Cheshire College South and West have received rave reviews from industry experts for their work backstage on an award-winning theatre company’s latest livestreamed professional production. The work of the three learners, who are currently completing their BA (Hons) in Technical Theatre, was mentioned by acclaimed worldwide theatre publication, The Stage, during their review of a new production by Ellesmere Port-based theatre company The Boaty Theatre Company. Francesca Blythin, Matthew Plested and Alex Vickers took on the technical roles for The Boaty Theatre Company’s original debut production of Home, Again, as part of their degree module and were also named in Mobile Theatre’s review, who praised their innovation and professionalism.
