There are many entrepreneurs in this world, or so they say. Many people strive to be successful, great and rich. A lot take risks and many fail; yet few succeed, if you happen to be one of the succeeding then chances are more than likely youâre very rich and successful sitting on a throne of a simple mindless idea that once popped into your head. Take Gary Dahl for example, he created the Pet Rock as funny as it seems in the 1970âs this funky idea had over 1.5 million in sales. He sold these pet rocks at only 3.95$; obviously this man was a rock hard millionaire over a rocking idea.
Gold Digger King pulled a mild upset over co-favourite GD Western Joe and My Hero Ron in Saturday’s $23,000 Open I Handicap Pace at Miami Valley.
The five-year-old son of Pet Rock, trained by Scott Mogan for owner Linda Van Camp, was making just his second start of 2021 after a stellar 2020 season when he won eight and was runner-up on five other occasions in just 18 starts. His 1:50.1 clocking established a lifetime mark for the earner of $269,137.
Driver Tyler Smith negotiated a pocket ride throughout the tilt after forcing GD Western Joe to a :27 opening quarter before turning him loose. Page got a brief breather for his charge before reaching the :55.2 halfway point, but was forced to go :26.4 to repel first-up challenger Dojea Gizmo in the third quarter. When clearance appeared at the head of the lane, Gold Digger King sprinted past a stubborn GD Western Joe to secure the victory.
Real Rockin Ravi vaulted off cover to a 1:54.4 win in Sunday s (Feb. 21) $20,000 final of the George Red Owens Memorial Series at Miami Valley Raceway.
Real Rockin Ravi had outside post positions in the two preliminary legs of the series and eked out very narrow victories in both. With a better post draw for the final, driver Dan Noble elected to race mid-pack early in the mile before confidently angling the four-year-old daughter of Pet Rock off the pylons to follow cover as the field neared the halfway juncture. Content with the flow, Noble followed along until halfway around the final bend before swinging three-wide into the stretch and powerfully passing her remaining foes.
