Cllr Naoise Ó Cearúil said these will be needed once outdoor dining is permitted.
“We have had complaints about dog fouling, litter and now (the lack of) public toilets, he told a recent Kildare County Council meeting.
And he said with the advent of good weather people are getting more used to eating and drinking outside.
“People are relieving themselves down backlanes and sometimes in clear sight,” he said.
He suggested that one be installed at Maynooth and another portaloo could be provided at Poplar Square, Naas.

No respite for County Kildare residents from motorway noise
Complaint );
);
There are no immediate plans to decrease the noise levels coming from motorways passing through County Kildare.
Two councillors - Peggy O’Dwyer and Tim Durkan - tabled a motion at a Kildare
County Council seeking information about any plans to tackle the issues though noise reducing tarmac, noise reduction barrier or trees.
Cllr O’Dwyer told the meeting that the issue was affecting people living in Walshestown Abbey, Newbridge, where traffic is visible on the M4.
Cllr Tim Durkan said a similar problem is apparent on the M7.
€4 million cost for finishing off housing estates throughout County Kildare KCC
Residential );
);
The cost of completing housing estates across County Kildare to the standard where they can be taken in charge by the council has been estimated at €4m. Once a residential area has been taken in charge it means that Kildare county council is responsible for ongoing infrastructural work.
Cllr Aidan Farrelly told a KCC meeting that some 33 estates have no bond in place.
Bonds are effectively financial assurances provided by developers that estates will be completed but Cllr Farrelly said some of these ‘are not worth the paper they’re written on’.
