Beer, wine to-go sales returning to Cotuit

Bronwen Howells Walsh HYANNIS Barnstable Licensing Authority on Monday reluctantly approved transferring a beer and wine license from Hyannis now-closed Cost Plus World Market back to Cotuit. Steven Gould, who owned Cotuit Grocery Co. from 1987 to 2009, said he plans to offer to-go beer and wine sales in a stand-alone section of the Cotuit Fresh Market building with its own entrance and exit and a separate check-out register. It will be connected to The Coop, but alcohol may only be purchased on the beer and wine side, where it will be bagged. Since Gould sold the store s beer and wine license in 2009, the nearest location for buying beer and wine is three miles away at Cotuit Liquors in Marstons Mills, said Hyannis attorney David Lawler.
