‘Box set drama’ was the overarching theme for
Crips with Chips, which seemed odd for an online scratch night – five ‘box set dramas’ in about an hour or so. The term ‘crip’ is, or rather was, a derogatory slang term for ‘cripple’, though it appears to be repurposed by the likes of Graeae and others for positive reasons. The word has been used by disability campaigners for decades – there was even a hashtag, #CripTheVote, first used for the 2016 United States elections to highlight disability policy issues in America. Anyway, this event was hosted by Sharon D Clarke and Leanna Benjamin, and like almost everyone seen by the audience, introductions were disabled-friendly, with detailed descriptions of what they were wearing and where they were (as in whether they were in their front room, bedroom or elsewhere at home).
When the United Kingdom voted to leave the European Union, a world of uncertainty unfolded for those doing business in the UK and the EU. The referendum was passed in July 2016. UF offers powerful new NVIDIA supercomputer to students and researchers across State University System
University of Florida’s new supercomputer the fastest artificial intelligence supercomputer in higher education will soon be available for students and faculty across the State University System, UF Provost Joe Glover announced today.
The computer will give faculty and students from across the State unparalleled computing power in artificial intelligence (AI) to apply across many areas to improve lives, bolster industry, and create economic growth across the state. The supercomputer known as HiPerGator AI is based on an NVIDIA DGX SuperPOD of 140 DGX A100 systems and NVIDIA Mellanox HDR InfiniBand networking. The system is the result of a donation from UF Alumnus Chris Malachowsky and NVIDIA, the leading AI computing company he co-founded. It pairs with the third incarnation of UF’s general purpose supercomputer HiPerGator 3.0.

A Napanee couple who have been travelling to Peru, Uganda and Zambia for 18 years are seeing the effects of COVID-19 in some of the poorest communities in the world.
Tom and Cheryl Martin are the founders of Helping Cope Through Hope, a non-profit organization that sponsors 165 children in those three countries to attend school, as well as provides seed money for small businesses, offers meal programs and helps families with other necessities of life.
