Described as a “legacy” subdivision plan by Town staff – it was approved approximately 30 to 35 years ago – for vacant land east of Railway St. and south of McNabb St. When built-out, it will include six lots developed last year with the reconstruction of McNabb St., 40 single-family lots that the pre-servicing deal covers, an addition 40 single family lots, a commercial block facing Highway 21 south of the vet clinic, and a multi-unit block on Peel St.

Deputy Mayor Matheson’s “real concerns” centre on the clear stripping of trees around the natural-fed stream on the property. A portion of the creek at the south end of the property has been cleared, causing erosion and downstream silt, Matheson said.
