Lockdown hasn t stopped Rochdale students from getting a taste of a career in construction, thanks to a pioneering work experience programme run by ENGIE in partnership with Rochdale Boroughwide Housing and Hopwood Hall College.
The energy and services company has been on site in Lower Falinge since March 2020 to deliver 55 new houses and low-rise apartments for Rochdale Boroughwide Housing (RBH) as well as new community green space. These homes are a key part of a wider RBH plan to deliver new homes in Rochdale town centre.

Rochdale residents are being asked how they would like to improve the streets where they live as part of plans to create a new low-traffic neighbourhood in Milkstone & Deeplish.
Low-traffic neighbourhoods, known locally as Active Neighbourhoods, focus on prioritising the movement, health and safety of people over cars by using planters or bollards to stop rat-running on residential streets. These innovative schemes typically create quieter streets for residents to chat and for children to play, as well as making trips to schools and the shops safer.

Safer Sleep Week is a national awareness campaign by the Lullaby Trust targeting anyone looking after a young baby. It aims to raise awareness of Sudden Infant Death Syndrome (SIDS) and equip parents and carers with information about how to reduce the risk.
