Vale da Lama, or as it translates into English ‘The Valley of the Mud’
is, well.. it’s many things. I first heard of them when The Portugal News got an email letting us know about a ‘Farm to Fork’ event they hosted in December. I loved the idea of a place where you can go and eat what they grow, and the very well put together website showed a birds eye view of the quite vast and impressive farm. Words like ‘Syntropic Agroforestry’ and ‘Planned Holistic Grazing’ jumped out at me, and even though I had missed the opportunity to get their food on the end of my fork, I just had to find out more.
Monchique water 100% recycled bottles
Monchique waters has launched a bottle of mineral water with recycled PET (rPET) and for every million bottles produced, approximately 30 thousand kilograms of virgin PET will no longer be consumed, which represents an estimated annual saving of 100 tonnes of virgin PET.

The Portugal News, Monchique integrates the ambitious commitment into their business plan in a bid to reduce its environmental footprint and this has led the company to be able to reach the EU 2030 target some 10 years earlier than expected regarding the integration of 30 percent of recycled PET in its packaging.

What you need to know about the presidential elections in Portugal taking place today.
More than 10 million voters resident in Portugal and abroad are called to vote in the elections today to choose the next President of the Republic.
This is the 10th time that the Portuguese have been called to choose the President of the Republic in democracy, since 1976.
