Amnesty plans ex-agitators’ training at Bayelsa moribund fish farm The Punch

The Interim Administrator of the Presidential Amnesty Programme, Col. Milland Dikio (rtd), has said the PAP is partnering the Bayelsa State Government to revive the state’s moribund 500 fish ponds as a training facility for ex-agitators on fish farming.
Dikio stated this when he paid a courtesy visit to the Commander of the joint task force in the Niger Delta, codenamed Operation Delta Safe, Rear Admiral Aminu Hassan, in Yenagoa, Bayelsa State.
He noted that the ex-agitators, who had already acquired skills, would be constituted into cooperatives and attached to small and medium enterprises on three identified platforms of food security, maritime security and maritime transport.

A former Commander of the Movement for the Emancipation of the Niger Delta (MEND), Chief Government Ekpemupolo (a.k.a Tompolo) yesterday agreed to the request of the Minister of Niger Delta Affairs, Senator Godswill Akpabio to constitute the board of NDDC before the end of June.
Ekpemupolo, the Ibe-Ebidouwei of Ijaw nation, said he reluctantly accepted the outcome of the meeting with the minister, though warned that nothing should derail the agreement reached.
He made these remarks in a statement he issued yesterday, asking President Muhammadu Buhari to constitute the substantive board of the Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC) before June 30 as a matter of urgency.

There were a lots of concerns expressed by Nigerians on this matter within this period, hence machineries were put in place for consultations among Nigerians, especially from highly placed individuals and organizations from the Niger Delta region, including the Minister of Niger Delta Affairs, Senator Godswill Akpabio.
As I expressed in my press statement of Monday May 31st 2021, I came into this matter because of love for the region and Nigeria. I make bold to say that I cannot be compromised by money and other material things.
