THE leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra, Nnamdi Kanu, says the group launched a security outfit in Biafraland because of the failure of the governors in the region to do so.
Kanu stated this in a statement he signed on Tuesday.
He accused the governors of sleeping over what he called the mass killings of the people of the area.
He said, “Having waited for many years for our governors to secure our land as Yoruba governors did to no avail, we, the people of the East comprising of South- East and South-South have resolved to defend our land from the ravages of terrorism and extrajudicial killings.

The leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra, IPOB, Mazi Nnamdi Kanu has said that the South-East governors approach to the issue of insecurity, criminal and killer herdsmen is indicative of the mindset of a divided and conquered people.
In a statement, he signed and made available to reporters, through IPOB s Media and Publicity Secretary, Emma Powerful, Kanu, alleged that the pathetic, cowardly and fragmented approach to the significant threat to southeast existence is the result of years of cruel and deliberate partitioning of the people s land, cutting Igboland into five states, dividing it and calling it alien names.

The Delta State Police Command has paraded 110 suspects for alleged criminal offences ranging from armed robbery, kidnapping and cultism to child stealing, jail break and murder.
Parading the suspects at the command headquarters on Thursday in Asaba, the Commissioner of Police, Hafiz Inuwa, said that the effect of the #EndSARS protests which were hijacked by hoodlums had a devastating impact on general security.
He said, “The command has been confronted with the challenges of enforcing and ensuring compliance with regulations and some measures had to be put in place.
“This measure led to the arrest of 12 kidnapping suspects, 27 robbery suspects, 25 cultists, nine arson suspects, eight suspects for child stealing, 14 suspects for unlawful possession firearms, and eight rape/defilement suspect.
