The FINANCIAL With future drivetrain electrification, Mercedes-AMG combines superior performance and impressive driving dynamics with maximum efficiency. The development of future drive concepts will continue to benefit from the valuable experience gained from close cooperation with the Formula 1 experts at Mercedes-AMG High Performance Powertrains (HPP) and the Mercedes-AMG Petronas F1 Team. The cooperation between the three performance specialists will intensify even further in 2021, reflected, among other things, in the bundling of motorsport activities. Above all, however, the mutual transfer of knowledge also makes fascinating new AMG models possible, such as the Project ONE hyper car, which brings Formula 1 hybrid technology almost one-to-one to the road, Mercedes notes.

The German high-performance car specialists have just revealed their plans for the immediate future, which will be electrified. Called E Performance, the company’s upcoming hybrid powertrains will utilize eight- and four-cylinder AMG-developed ICEs along with an electric motor and a high-performance battery that employ technologies derived from F1 race cars. 33 photos
Many automakers have electrified their powertrains to reduce emissions and increase performance, and now it’s time for mass-produced Mercedes-AMG models to take the hybrid and EV route.
The Affalterbach-based division has just unveiled the cornerstone of its immediate future in the form of the new E Performance powertrains.
