One recipient, the Performance Arcade’s
exciting new summertime arts programme
WHAT IF THE CITY
WAS A THEATRE? launches this evening with a performance
curated by Movement of the Human (MOTH) at Whairepo
Lagoon.
The free festival will feature more than
300 individual performances over 60 locations throughout the
city – from cabaret at crosswalks, circus on cranes, and
dance everywhere from on Flamingo Scooters to in the Cable
Car.
In 2020, Council funded hundreds of projects,
organisations and events to benefit the whole community –
particularly those impacted by COVID-19, says Mayor Andy
Foster.

What s one place you d take every visitor to in NZ and why? I love taking my friends to Elliott Beach in the Far North. It was a favourite swimming and shell-gathering spot for my brother and I when we lived in the Bay of Islands. The long, sandy shore ends in a mermaid pool and hidden caves lead to a secret beach.
What if the City was a

Weekend on this anniversary weekend, the 42nd Gardens
Magic continues to attract huge crowds to the Wellington
Botanic Garden ki Paekākā, Te
Rā o Waitangi and Whānau Film Night are coming up, and
the city is to become a stage with The Performance
Arcade 2021 and
