Texas is a border state, and Rep. August Pfluger, R-Texas, joins “The Daily Signal Podcast” to discuss how illegal immigration is affecting it.
“With my military background, 20 years in the Air Force, it’s incumbent upon commanders to visit troops in the field,” Pfluger told The Daily Signal.
“We’ve asked the commander in chief to visit the Border Patrol agents, because what stood out to me was, when you talk to these folks, they’re trying to the best of their ability to do their job to secure our country, and they don’t have the resources,” the freshman Texas lawmaker says. “In fact, this administration is cutting resources, halting construction on the border wall, not giving the technology that they need.”

PSA meets with government – union members will bargain for pay increases
A delegation from the Public Service Association today discussed upcoming pay negotiations with the Prime Minister, the Minister of Finance, the Minister for the Public Service, the Minister of Workplace Relations and the Public Service Commissioner.
Frank and constructive discussions took place, and the government acknowledged bargaining must be conducted in good faith with no predetermined outcomes.
“Union members will resolve the question of public sector pay rises through collective bargaining,” says PSA National Secretary Kerry Davies.
“As always, that means workers must get actively involved with their union and encourage colleagues to do the same.”

The union and the government agree there is scope to discuss cost of living increases for all union members covered by collective agreements, including higher increases for the lowest paid, and equal pay settlements must be sped up.

President Joe Biden signed an executive order this week to create a new federal government office dedicated to fighting climate change. The purpose of the CCSO shall be to perform the specific project of supporting bilateral and multilateral engagement to advance the United States initiative to address the global climate crisis, led by the Department of State and in coordination with other executive departments and agencies, the executive order states. In carrying out its purpose as set forth in subsection 1(c) of this order, the CCSO shall support the Department of State and other executive departments and agencies, as appropriate, in leading diplomatic engagement on climate change, exercising climate leadership in international fora, increasing international climate ambition, and ensuring that climate change is integrated into all elements of United States foreign policy-making decision processes.
The 45th President recently lambasted Kerry, who is currently serving as the 1st United States Special Presidential Envoy for Climate, during an appearance on the Dan Bongino podcast last week. If you look at what s happening. We got the word out on so many things. Including, I just saw today, on John Kerry and what he did with Iran. I was pushing that very very hard. I think we would have had a deal with Iran done except he was telling Iran not to do it, that s my opinion, Trump said, referring to his administration s efforts to sign a better deal with the Iranian regime than the one negotiated under his predecessor.
