CHENNAI: The Tamil Nadu government on Saturday announced extension of lockdown for another week ending at 6 am on June 14 and eased lockdown curbs in most of the districts. The government announced additional easing of curbs in Chennai.
An official release said that already permitted activities would continue in all the districts.
Though the Covid-19 spread has come under control in several districts, 11 districts Coimbatore, the Nilgiris, Tirupur, Erode, Salem, Karur, Namakkal, Thanjavur, Tiruvarur, Nagapattanam and Mayiladuthurai report a high number of cases. However, certain relaxations are extended in these districts too to meet the essential requirements of the people, chief minister M K Stalin said in a statement.
