Mr. Trump did not say whether he would be on the ticket in that election, but he twice teased a potential candidacy, according to an attendee at his speech. I stand before you this evening filled with confidence that in 2022, we are going to take back the House and we are going to reclaim the Senate and then in 2024, a Republican candidate is going to win the White House, Mr. Trump s prepared remarks said.

On March 15, the United States Senate voted 51-40 to confirm Rep. Deb Haaland (D-N.M.) as the new Secretary of the Interior. A member of the Laguna Pueblo tribe, Haaland is no stranger to making history. In 2018, she was one of two Indigenous women elected to serve in Congress, representing New Mexico as a Democrat.
