GOVERNOR KIM REYNOLDS:

As luck would have it, I was fortunate enough to be ahead of this curve. I called Senators Grassley and Earnst (ETA: on last Friday). I prefaced the reason for my call with the fact that I was proud of both of my senators for not siding on with the Electoral Results Deniers, and that indeed they should not have. I then followed with my belief that the events of Wednesday provided evidence of a clear and present danger to the Country in the person of Donald J Trump, and that he should be lawfully removed from office as quickly as possible. I left my name, address and the fact that I am a born-and-raised Iowan.
Marco Rubio should have been better vetted before he ran for the presidency.
Dick Durbin dropped a comment about his Gang of Eight cohort Marco Rubio, and while he has a political motivation, it does fit with Rubio’s amnesty plan for the United States.
Democrat Dick Durbin, also a member of the Gang of Eight, said during a hearing on H1-B visas on Thursday that “a junior senator from Florida” fought to kill visa changes in the legislation that would have limited the ability of firms to replace American workers with cheaper foreign labor.
“In 2013, I was part of the Gang of Eight. Democrats and Republicans sat down and wrote, kind of, the comprehensive immigration reform. One member of the Gang of Eight, a junior senator from Florida, fought hard to keep H-1B reforms out of the bill. Nonetheless, we made several important changes in the program,” said Durbin.

U.S. Sen. Chuck Grassley was escorted out of the halls of Congress, and other members of Iowa’s delegation sheltered in place Wednesday as armed supporters of the outgoing president stormed the U.S. Capitol in an attempt to disrupt the peaceful transition of power to President-elect Joe Biden.
The chaotic scene erupted as supporters of Republican President Donald Trump marched on the Capitol, demonstrated outside its gates and eventually breached its walls, halting debate during a joint session of Congress. Congress was scheduled to vote on whether to accept the results of the Electoral College amid challenges from a number of Republican lawmakers.
